The connection between memory and photography is fascinating. It’s something I think about frequently, but I’ve yet to really figure out the puzzle. We launched La Pura Vida on Flickr one year ago based on the idea of creating monthly pools of photographs that had no clear theme or style. We simply wanted ‘good’ photographs that flowed together organically. No discussion. No debate. No arguments. Just photographs in the flow of life.
I’d like to thank everyone who has contributed and embraced LPV this last year. It’s been fucking cool as hell to be apart of and I’m always find inspiration watching those photographs flow into the pool. The monthly edits are getting tight, but what inspires those edits are the photographers who watch the pool and submit on their intuition. It’s a back and forth communication. Submissions inspire new ideas and make us think about the edit in new ways. It’s truly been one of the most fulfilling creative collaborations I’ve been apart.
However, I firmly believe we can go further. My intuition tells me we’re onto something. See you in the f(ph)low.
